What can R7 Outreach do for your IG?

  1. Public Information and Professional Outreach manuals  are available for $15 each from the WSO Bookstore. You may apply here for funds from Region 7 to purchase these manuals. The Professional Trade Shows Manual is available as a downloadable PDF from WSO as are the Guidelines for Public Information Events and Guidelines for Professional Outreach Committees.
  2. You may apply for matching funds from Region 7 to pay entry fees or to purchase literature for some Outreach events. These could be Health Fairs or similar events, Public Service Announcements, Presentations at Medical Schools, etc.
  3. For those Intergroups that do not have table throws, display boards and/or banners, they may be borrowed from Region 7 as long as the borrowing Intergroup pays for insurance and shipping to return the materials to Region 7.
  4. Your R7 Outreach Committee can reach out, through Region and/or World Service, to other OA members who have experience in both setting up and working events similar to yours and may be able to help you.
  5. We encourage those Intergroups that may have an ongoing need for display equipment to purchase their own. We can provide the necessary supplier information for these purchases. Contact the PI Board Coordinator for more information. If your Intergroup lacks the financial resources, they can apply for funding from Region 7.

HOW TO RESERVE DISPLAY MATERIALS

Submit a request for materials to the PI Board Coordinator. Please try to request materials 4 weeks in advance of your event so it can be mailed out and reach your intergroup in plenty of time.

Please be mindful when assembling everything to take note of how it was packed when you received it, in order to know how to repack it for return shipping. Region 7 is responsible for shipping costs to send the PI materials to the requesting intergroup. The requesting intergroup is responsible for shipping and insurance costs to send back the materials to Region 7. Send PI materials via a carrier that provides insurance and detailed tracking (i.e.: USPS Priority Mail, Fed-ex, UPS, DHL etc.) All materials MUST be insured for $400. Please try to return the materials to the coordinator within 5 days after the event.

If you need help with shipping costs, please remember that you can apply for financial assistance.

Please contact the PI Board Coordinator on any of the above items or anything else that would help you achieve your goals in reaching out to those who are not aware of our program. We need to get the word out to those who are still suffering that Overeaters Anonymous is here for them.
